Dan Poreda, L.Ac
Daniel Poreda is board certified and state licensed in acupuncture and Chinese herbology. He completed a 5 year masters program in Oriental Medicine at Touro College, Manhattan NYC. As an acupuncture intern at the Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn NYC, he treated patients in physical rehabilitation, labor and delivery, and oncology departments.
Post graduation, Dan traveled to Chengdu, China to continue his studies and deepen his clinical expertise at the Chengdu University of traditional Chinese Medicine. He completed rounds in the acupuncture departments and in herbal medicine departments for digestive disorders, diabetes, neurology, oncology, gynecology, cardiology, respiratory disease, and dermatology. The focus of his residency was with Dr. Zhang Zhi Wen, internationally recognized master Wen Bing practitioner; Wen Bing , ”warm disease”, is a specialty practice that tends to treat a range of upper respiratory illness and febrile (fever) disease. People would come to Dr. Zhang Zhi Wen for herbal prescriptions to treat conditions from the common cold to advanced pulmonary fibrosis. “Observing the practice of Dr. Zhang profoundly influenced my understanding and formulation of Chinese herbal medicine. I have adopted his approach for my patients in the United States.” Daniel also served as a guest lecturer for Chinese graduate students in a Chinese-English medical translation course.
After returning to the States, Dan founded Center Acupuncture as a place to provide traditional Chinese medicine as personalized health care in New York City. Specializing in pain resolution, rehabilitation, stress patterns, fertility, allergies, respiratory, and digestive conditions.
